The Origin of GTAM™
GTAM™ (Guo’s Triangular Activation Model) was not born in a lab or a policy room. It was shaped in real classrooms — from daily interactions, reflective journaling, and the lived experience of supporting students across diverse learning contexts.
From Practice to Theory
Over a decade of hands-on teaching, I noticed patterns: what sparked students’ motivation, how engagement could be sustained, and how learners adapted creatively when supported. Through action research, these insights crystallized into the GTAM triangle: Motivation, Engagement, and Adaptation.
Educator-Guided, Student-Driven
This model is grounded in authentic teaching moments. It values the voice of the learner and the agility of the teacher. GTAM™ aims to support both.
